physical description. Selene is remarkable only by her well kept appearance and expensive fashion sense with a tendency to wear dark colored clothing. She's slightly above average in height, has a slender build, pale complexion and dark, mildly curly hair. Her eyes are blue. Selene's attractive qualities are mostly natural and unlike many girls of her generation she applies very minimal make up.
superhuman powers & abilities. Selene possess the following superhuman abilities:
Psionic Drain: The source of Selene's power. Selene has the ability to psionically drain the life force from other human beings, likening her to a supernatural vampire. Those she drains partially are placed under her control through a psychic link. Those she drains completely turn to ash. It is unknown how often Selene must feed to maintain her power.
Create Drone: Through unknown means, Selene can also cause a human being to become a psychic vampire like herself. She has used this power at least once, the effects of which were telepathically undone by Charles Xavier.
Supernatural Strength and Speed: Selene's physical abilities are augmented with the energy she drains. At optimum levels Selene can lift 1500lbs and is able to move short distances at speeds that rival Quicksilver.
Hypnosis: With eye contact Selene is able to put others in a hypnotic trance. She must maintain eye contact to keep this hypnosis effect. Her eyes turn a bright red color while using this power.
Telekinesis: Selene has complete psionic control over inanimate objects. Unknown to her peers is that Selene developed this ability from draining another mutant. Whether her ability to disintegrate inanimate objects is a natural ability or an extension of this stolen ability is unknown.
Power Steal: Selene discovered she was able to take other abilities from mutants by draining them completely. She has only done this once, and other negative consequences or side effects that may result from this ability are unknown.
Immortality[?]: Aware that storing energy from others keeps her from aging, Selene is not yet old enough to discover that taking the life force from others will actually reverse old age and keep her youthfulness. In theory, Selene's life-span might last thousands of years, perhaps longer.
Limited Invulnerability: Due to the psionic life force that Selene absorbs, she is able to simply ignore many injuries such as knife wounds. However, like the rest of her powers, this can be taxing and drain Selene of the energy she's stored
Soul Sword: Illyana's death at the hands of David Haller resulted in him inheriting the majority of the mutant witch's abilities and memories. The soul sword, however, was a product of magic which now rests dormant within Selene. How, when and Selene's possession of the sword is still unknown even to herself.
personality. Selene's five year absence has given her a very different attitude towards time. She's beginning to comprehend her near immortality while developing an extreme level of patience. She's not bothered by her second abduction knowing that she, unlike her peers, can afford to wait.
Her ambition, however, has not been muted by past experience. If anything the years have done nothing but to affirm her tenacity. All her experiences from when she was young have taught Selene that nothing is more important than survival, an aspect that has helped her live through at least two assassination attempts.
Ironically, her heightened survival sense mutated during her teenaged years into a desire to gain wealth and power. The very Machiavellian tactics she uses are likely responsible for making her into a target, a cycle that continues to fuel itself. One might say Selene suffers from a severe case of Scarlett O'Hara syndrome.

game history. Selene first manifested her powers at age six, slowly draining her parents of their life force over a period of two years. During this time they were in the accidental thrall of a child until eventually their bodies turned to ash due to the parasitic nature of the relationship. By creating a rudimentary psychic link, the child's mind developed at a faster pace than most her age while the life force of her family ensured she would not physically develop.
After the death of her parents, there doesn't appear to be any official record of Selene's guardianship. Selene left her home and used her abilities to be taken in quietly by others. Given the adoption of her posh accent, it is likely that the majority of her benefactors were wealthy.
Selene moved from host to host while learning to control her powers. Depending on how careful she was, any victim might last two to four years. However Selene managed those years, likely there were at least some mistakes to trace her vampiric signature by. Selene learned to be an effective con artist and quick thinker dealing with the hazards of her vampiric lifestyle and constant threat of exposure.
Through her wealthy benefactors at age thirteen Selene learned of the Hellfire Club's existence. Her first encounter is a little known legend. Upon arriving at the doorsteps of the Club's complex she was denied entry by one of the Club's guards. She killed him instantly unaware that she'd permanently absorbed his telekinetic abilities when she absorbed his life force. Dani Moonstar, Black Queen of the Hellfire Club, instantly seized the opportunity to capitalize on the child's potential. She would not learn of Selene's real age until nearly a year later. Julian Keller, Black King, also appears to have taught Selene how to use her telekinesis. Together they became something of a mismatched family with Illyana Rasputina filling the role of favorite aunt.
Her presence in the Hellfire Club made some within it nervous. For largely political reasons, she was sent away to the Malden Institute. At the fledgling school for mutants, Selene instantly made friends with Nathaniel Essex, Charles Xavier and Lucas Emory. She also helped Victor Creed learn to read, though due to his violent nature he was quickly removed from the school. Her friendships with Sybil Dvorak, Raven Darkholme and Piotr Rasputin were always on less certain ground and Selene personally despised Emma Frost.
Her first assassination attempt at the school came not from her political associations but from within her family. One of her cousins, an insanely powerful mutant, managed to discover her role in the death of her parents and thought it best to put her down before she hurt other innocents. The attempt was thwarted by the combined efforts of Nathaniel Essex and an impostor claiming to be Erik Lensherr but not until Selene had expelled enough energy that she was restored to her proper age. Shortly afterward she would develop a romantic relationship with Essex.
Nathaniel accidentally discovered Selene's past when entering her dreams in his sleep. The revelation inadvertently pulls Selene back into his mind where she in turn glimpses an event from his mind. Charles Xavier manages to straighten out the mess.
Selene also attempted to study magic under Wanda Maximoff but the results were usually disastrous. It is possible that epilepsy combined with Selene's abilities are the real culprits for triggering both episodes. Selene has done little to delve into the occult since then.
The rest of her school year was mostly normal. She went to a costumed dance with Nathaniel and received high marks in most her classes with the exception of biology. The last details Selene remembered of that year involved being selected for the school play and feeding her kitten Machiavelli in her dormitory back in Malden which she shared with Sybil. She disappeared before the traumatic attack on the school.
Selene does not precisely know where she is or how she arrived in the South American wild, but she suspected it was meant as a second assassination attempt.
After months of spending time wandering the jungle, half crazed, she was miraculously found by locals. They too decided to capitalize on her abilities and used a powerful narcotic to keep her manageable. Selene spent the next five years questioning her reality. The locals would send young girls to tend to her like a goddess, occasionally sending her human sacrifices. Some would grow to believe Selene was a god while others who knew the truth found she was a convenient method for disposing undesirables.
Back home she was presumed dead. Dani Moonstar took Sybil as her new ward only to be betrayed. Sybil then took the role of Black Queen and began seeing Nathaniel Essex. Julian Keller and Illyana Rasputin were "killed" by David Haller.
Gallio was eventually found by Lucas Emory who had painted at least one clue of her whereabouts years earlier during one of her seizures, the second a portrait five years after her disappearance. Using clues from both paintings David Haller and Manuel de la Rocha were sent to retrieve her.
The return home would last months. In nearly identical fashion she was deposited a second time into unfamiliar territory, this time in the Savage Lands. As an added touch she is wearing the exact same clothing de la Rocha and Haller found her in on the day of her rescue; handmade sandals, a plain white, sleeveless knee-length cotton dress, elaborately dyed scarves, an intricate beaded belt, jewelry made of precious stone and metal and simple headdress. Selene herself might have chalked up her brief rescue to a mere dream had she not instantly recognized herself to be in a jungle very different to the one she'd spent years in. She suspects the same person to be responsible for both kidnappings, the later as a means of mocking her.
